Not What It Used To Be
Installation
2016
The installation consist of three elements:
A doll from Punkt/Point, a frame with a photo of the Word Trade Center, and a scarf supporting Palestinian independence. 2005 saw the Punkt/Point’s first birthday. The cake was prepared for the occasion was decorated two dolls – one of me and the other of Maja, with whom I ran the Point. The cake was eaten, and the dolls were framed. They symbolize the times of youthful exuberance and freedom from any commitments.
A frame with a photo of Word Trade Center found, while cleaning, in a drawer in my room at my parents’ house. It had been lying there for more than twenty years. The photo is an example of a picture placed in frames by frame manufacturers. It dates from the period when the WTC towers stood carefree in New York.
A Palestinian scarf I bought during a trip to Ramallah symbolizes the pre-war era.
