The Hand of God
Project in urban space, hand embroidery on paper
2012
An installation in urban space that replicates the path of the football, one of the most famous goals in history. “The hand of God” is the popular term for the goal scored by Diego Maradona in the 1986 FIFA World Cup quarter-finals match between Argentina and England in Mexico, thanks to which Argentina won the match. Apparently, the referee failed to notice that Maradona had scored the goal with his hand. Years later, Maradona said that this goal was helped by “the hand of god.”
