Trendy Detail
Place-community, radio show
2014-2018
As a little girl, I lived in Gorlice, and a store called Modny drobiazg/Trendy Detail opened in our neighbourhood. Its logo was MD, and so I thought that trendy detail was me. Today, Modny drobiazg is an art centre. This is where my studio was located – a rental shop for dresses that I used to design at Punkt/Point, this is where I hold events and invite artists to present their work (including: Ola Kozioł, Dorota Podlaska, Marta Sala, Piotr Skalski). This is where I work, meet with others and develop new projects. In the evenings, classes are held by Hands of Gold – Embroidery School for Ladies and Gents. One day, it will become an art centre, a meeting location, and an artist space.
Dorota Podlaska will run a café where desserts and drinks will be works of art, Karolina Breguła will run a cinema, Justyna Koeke will work on fashion, Cecylia Malik will maintain the garden surrounding the centre. I will run the Hands of Gold – Embroidery School for Ladies and Gents. It will be a place of happiness and joy. Fairy tale-beautiful, with domes shaped like truffles from a box of chocolates. Modny Drobiazg was also the title of my programme about shoes broadcast on Radio Voices in 2016, hosted by Fait Gallery. Listen below!
Trendy Detail existed between 2011-2016 and was located in the former Miraculum factory in Kraków’s Zabłocie district.
