Installation in urban space

The Chairblanket allows two people to spend time together, in one place, without having to do the same activities. For an adult in need of rest, the portable, lightweight form of a chair allows a comfortable rest stop anywhere. Attached to the chair, the blanket, when unfolded, becomes a space for a child. The Chairblanket offers an opportunity to be together, taking into account the individual needs and abilities of the participants. The Chairblanket is made in Poland in cooperation with local craftsmen, from natural materials such as beech wood, linen, and woollen cloth.
The Chairblanket was designed as part of the National Museum in Kraków’s educational project entitled “Razem w podróży” [Together on a Journey], which aimed to provide a meeting ground for people of different generations, children, and adults. The chair can be rented, free of charge, before entering the Museum and is also available at other branches – the Gallery of 19th Century Polish Art in the Sukiennice, Stanisław Wyspiański Museum in the Szołayski Tenement House, and Jan Matejko House.
